It's Friday

I am glad I had my camera with me when I pulled out of the garage to go to work.  There was deer all over in the neighbors field.  I had to watch them for a few minutes and snap a few pictures.  I couldn't get very close to them.

I am a substitute teacher for the two school district in my area.  I love the work.  I only sub for 7th grade on up.  I have a hard time with the younger ages.  To much like babysitting.  Anyway, my most favorite schools to sub for are the alternative schools.  I really enjoys the kids there.  Some come from very rough backgrounds but they want to learn.  Some of them are like sponges.  They soak up every drop of knowledge they can.  After I have finished a day of subbing, I have been taught by them.  They are great kids.   I really should go back to school and get a teaching degree.  I am not sure I have what it takes to get that degree.  Something I really need to think about.

Everyone have a good weekend.

  1. How lucky you had your camera close by. They look like they have Spring Fever!
You are never to old to get your degree. If you enjoy it, you should just go for it.

  2. Looks like you caught them sleeping in this morning! We have deer that sleep in our front yard at times. Not as much now as we did when we first moved here. It's always exciting to see them though.

It wouldn't hurt to look into what you would need to get your degree. Who knows, you might need to take as much as you think because they might give you credit for already working as a sub! Just a thought! I have a lot of my family that are teachers. My sister is a kindergarten teacher. Aunt is an aide, cousin is a 2nd grad teacher, cousin's wife teaches 6th grade math and so on! Me, I wasn't interested in the teaching field.

    Have a Wonderful Weekend!

  3. LOVE the big ears on Mule deer. So cute.

I can't imagine working with older kids... too much hormonal activity in the mix.

I'll stick to being a glorified babysitter for the younger set.

And watching kids at any age is tough - so you must be good!
