Been Busy Busy

The last few days have been really busy.  My mom's birthday was Thursday and we had a family get together on Friday.  All of us kids took care of the food and cake.  My sister made a yummy carrot cake.  She always makes tasty cakes.  Also on Friday, I went to my mother-in-laws for a quilting lesson.  She is teaching me how to make different kind of blocks.  So far I have put together a 9 patch, churn dash, jacob's ladder and I am working on a bear paw.  My mother-in-law is the sweetest mom a daughter-in-law could have.  I love her to death.  Saturday, I have been dejunking the basement.  I have so much junk.  I have a car load of stuff that I am taking to the Humane Society's store.   I am taking 2 vacuums so , now I am down to 3.   Just couldn't let go the third one.  I need to go through all of my books.  I probably have over 700 hard back books.  I going to donate them to a small library we have here in town.  Today, I went to church.  I enjoy going to church.  It makes my week go better.  I did a hour or two of scripture studying.  I try to study the scriptures at least an hour a day.  Really helps with the depression.  This coming week is going to be as busy.   Hope everyone has a good week.

Tag Your It.

I have been tagged.  I am honored, I think.   10minutes2breathe has bequeathed me this honor.  Here are my answers:

1. If you have pets, do you see them as merely animals, or are they members of your family?

I treat my dogs just like I would treat my children, if I had any.    They are my babies.  They recieve praise when they are good and scolded when they are bad.  My hubby tells me I treat the dogs better than I do him.   Dogs don't talk back.

2. If you can have a dream to come true, what would it be?

Spend a whole week with my Grandpa and my Aunt.   I miss them both.   I miss our talks and jokes.
3. What is the one thing most hated by you?

  Prejudice people

4. What would you do with a billion dollars?

I would pay off my house
and vehicles.  I would make sure that my family had the creature comforts, pay off and buy homes for them.  I would donate money to my church.   I would buy 100 acres and build an animal sanctuary.   A no kill zone.  Animals could live out their lives knowing that they are loved and taken care of.   I would help those that need help.   I would do it secretly.  No hoopla for me.  I would buy a new motor home though.  A 40ft with 4 slides.  I would then travel the USA and see all the states that I have always wanted to visit.

5. What helps to pull you out of a bad mood?

Calling my brother and have a good laugh.  I can always count on him to pull me out of a bad mood.

6. Which is more blessed, loving someone or being loved by someone?\

  Be loved my someone

7. What is your bedtime routine?

I am a night owl.  I make sure all the doors are locked. Wash my face and brush my teeth  Sit down with my computer and read blogs and watch Cops.   When I finally get sleepy I go to bed

8. If you are currently in a relationship, how did you meet your partner?

I met my hubby at work.   I was practicing for a part in a play and he helped with lines.   Sparks flew everywhere.

9. If you could watch a creative person in the act of the creative process, who would it be?

I would have liked to have watch Michelangelo paint the Sistine Chapel.

10. What kinds of books do you read?

I like to read murder suspense novels.  Some authors I like are Karen Harper, Janet Evanovich, Nora Roberts, James Patterson and many, many more.  I probably have over 500 hard back books.
I also love to read the scriptures.

11. How would you see yourself in ten years time?

Healthy and enjoying my family.  The same as I am now, just older and wiser.

12. What’s your fear?

Losing my family.   I don't deal with death very well.   I also fear losing my home.  With this economy who knows.

13. Would you give up all junk food for the rest of your life for the opportunity to visit outer space?

No way.  Got to have my kettle corn and diet pepsi.   Can't forget cheese and triscuts.   Nothing in outer space I want to see anyway.

14. Would you rather be single and rich or married, but poor

Married but poor.  I would rather have my best friend (hubby) with me than all the money in the world.

15. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?

Do I have to wake up.  I am not, I repeat, I am not a morning person.  I hate getting up.  I growl alot.

16. If you could change one thing about your spouse/partner what would it be?

Nothing really.  I wished he had a stronger heart.  He has had a heart attack and it scared the crap out of me.
17. If you could pick a new name for yourself, what would it be?

Grace or Katherine.

18. Would you forgive and forget no matter how horrible a thing that special someone has done?

Yes.  It might take me awhile to forgive but I would forgive and forget.  I am not the final judge.  That is the Lords job.

19. If you could only eat one thing for the next 6 months, what would it be?

Hamburgers.  I love a good hamburger.  I could eat a hamburger everyday and not get tired of them.
OK now I have to tag some people.....I tag....

1. The Sorensen Experience, Jeremy and Melissa

2. Chatty Crone

3. West Virginia Treasures

4. Farm Tails

All you do is copy and paste these questions and answer them in your own blog. No pressure..if you don't want to do it ..it's OK.  If you do answer them then you run and tag others. Thank you Cindy

It's Friday

I am glad I had my camera with me when I pulled out of the garage to go to work.  There was deer all over in the neighbors field.  I had to watch them for a few minutes and snap a few pictures.  I couldn't get very close to them.

I am a substitute teacher for the two school district in my area.  I love the work.  I only sub for 7th grade on up.  I have a hard time with the younger ages.  To much like babysitting.  Anyway, my most favorite schools to sub for are the alternative schools.  I really enjoys the kids there.  Some come from very rough backgrounds but they want to learn.  Some of them are like sponges.  They soak up every drop of knowledge they can.  After I have finished a day of subbing, I have been taught by them.  They are great kids.   I really should go back to school and get a teaching degree.  I am not sure I have what it takes to get that degree.  Something I really need to think about.

Everyone have a good weekend.

Happy Valentines to everyone.  I hope that your day is filled with love and harmony.  Last week was a hard one for me but I made it through with love and kindness I received from family and friends.

I too this picture last night from my deck.   A little look at Gods beautiful sunsets.

The Chicken Babysitter

I was not able to go to my Aunt's funeral because of work.   My mom has 12 hens and I volunteered to take care of them for her while she was gone.   I have really enjoyed going down to her place, to feed and water them.  Mom's hens are very friendly.   They start talking to you as soon as you enter the coop.   One of her hens loves to be petted.   She will jump up on the rails buy the nests and wait for you to pet her.  If you don't she will peck at you till you do.   She makes this sound that sounds like a purr.   Crazy.   Mom made the comment one day that she could never kill the hens to eat.  They were to much of pet.  Now I know what she is talking about.   Those girls will live long lives at the Hotel Hansen's coop.

Thank You

I want to thank everyone for the kind words over the loss of my furbaby.  Those kind words mean a lot to me.   Losing him has made me realize that our stay here on earth is very short.  You never know when our Maker will call us home.  I have been doing some deep soul searching, wondering I am ready to go.  Have I completed everything the Lord has given me to do.  Can I stand before the Lord, with my head held up high knowing I did my best.   I think not.  I could stand there and say I have done my best on some things but not all.  I have areas that I need to work on.  I going to take an area to work on and do it one step at a time.  Two steps forward and no steps back.  I really do love life.

YANCY

It's a very sad day.  Actually a sad week.   First my Aunt passed away, and tonight I had to put my baby down.  I wonder if the Lord really knows how much we can bear because I feel I can't handle much more.

My baby has not been feeling good for a few days now.   He quit eating about 3 days ago.   I tried everything to get him to eat.   The vet gave him some pills for infections, but he didn't seem to get better.  My husband has been gone for 3 weeks and he was suppose to return home today.   I know my poor baby was waiting for his daddy to come home before he died.   My hubby had been home no more than an hour, when Yancy started to have seizures.   It broke my heart when he would howl after having one.  We called the vet and rushed him in.   There was nothing we could do but let him go.   I petted his brow and told him it was ok for him to cross over the bridge.  I told him to go find Billy and play to his hearts content, that I would see him later.   I kissed and held him while he went. It is very hard losing a fur baby.  I have never had children, so these little souls are my children.   I feel like my heart is breaking.  A part of my family is missing.

RIP YANCY

Family

Today is a sad day.   My mom's sister died last night.   It was blessing.  She was full of cancer.  It was in her liver, pancreas, colon and kidneys.   She was in the hospital for awhile, but she didn't want to die there.   She raised such a ruckus until the doctors said she could go home.  He grandsons are EMTs and they were the ones that drove the ambulance to take her home.  When they came to her street, she asked them to turn on the siren so everyone would know she was coming home.   My aunt loved fun and her family.   She told the family that she wasn't going to go until my mother got there.  My mom drove 12 hours to get there.  When my aunt, saw my mom, she smiled and said she could go.   She died within few hours.  She will missed.   She was always in the center of the fun.   She loved to shop.   She knew where every bargain was.   She was very generous.   When she found a sale, she would buy an extra for her sisters.   She loved her family.   They were her life.

I know that she will be met on the other side by her mother, father and brother.  What joyous reunion that will be.
