My beautiful mother and sister |
My mom has instilled in me the love for life. She taught me how to work. I can remember Mom would give me chores to do. I was not left to do those chores alone, she would work right beside me, giving instructions and praise. Mom made chores fun. When we weeded the garden we would sing songs, tell jokes, tell stories or just talk about our day. It made the ghastly job of pulling weeds and hoeing a pleasant job.
My mom's love and faith in God is very important to her. When I was around 3 or 4, mom would sit down and read to me the Bible stories. As I got older she would give me scriptures to study and then she and I would talk about them. Through her example I have come to have great faith in my Heavenly Father. I have a love for the scriptures and truths that lie with in. I am 56, and I can still hear my mom, in my head, telling the stories of Noah, Abraham and Issac.
My mom is an excellent cook. She can take a few leftovers and make a wonderful meal. She makes the most delicious cinnamon rolls, you have ever tasted. Whenever the grand kids come up to visit her, they always request that she make cinnamon rolls. Mom took the time to teach me how to make bread. At first I hated it. What a pain in the butt, but now I am glad I know how. We don't buy bought bread much in our home.
Mom is a loving, kind and hard working woman. Mom I am glad you are my mom. I love you. Happy Mothers day.
