A New Profile Picture of Me

I read Sandi's (Chatty Crone) post today and she asked why do some people not have pictures of themselves on their profiles?   I didn't have one because I am the one that is usually taking the pictures.   I went back into my photo files to see if I could find one and I did.   My H and I went to Alaska last year to fish for salmon and halibut.   H some how got a hold of the camera and took a picture of me.   So Sandi, I have changed my picture.  It is of me sitting in a fishing boat waiting for our turn to fish in the honey hole as the guide called it, with no make up or combed hair.   It is the natural me.   I have accepted me for who I am, flaws and all.  I look just like my mother and I think she is gorgeous.

No makeup and no hair combed.  Roughing it.

The Lord Answers Prayers

We have been short on cash, because of layoffs and such, so H and I sat down and talked about what we should do. We decided to sell our 2 4-wheelers.  We didn't ride them at all last year and probably won't this year.  I posted them on Craigs list.  Knelt down and said a little prayer asking that they sell.   Both of them sold within 2 hours after I posted them.   And we got our asking price.  I was so happy.  I was doing little happy dances all over the house.  Now that is a sight, to see an old, heavy woman do happy dances.  When I said my evening prayer last night, I thanked the Lord for hearing and answering my earlier prayer.  I know that my Heavenly Father loves me.  I could feel his arms around me, telling me everything will okay. I may have to struggle, but everything will be okay.  I am on a spiritual high.  I could go out and conquer the world.  Not really, but I think I can.

My Brother

"Life is short but sweet, you only get to live it once, so love with all your heart, smile with all your might, and laugh with all your friends and live life."
I borrowed this from a friend on facebook.   The only way I would change it would be "to laugh with your family and friends".  I talked with my brother today for over an hour and the whole time we talked, I was laughing so hard that my stomach hurt.  I haven't laughed that much in such a long time.  We shared stories about growing up, things at work and of course politics.  We poked fun at ourselves and the rest of the family.  The poking at the family was done in fun, nothing that was hurtful.  I love my brother with all my heart.   He is the baby and I am the oldest in the family.  When he was born, I was sixteen.  My mother had the baby blues and I ended up taking care of him quite a bit.  I am sure that a lot of the neighbors that he was mine.  Nobody picked on my baby brother.  I remember one time he got into fight with the neighborhood bully.  At the time, my brother was very scrawny and the other kid was big and heavy.   When I heard of the fight, I had run over there and protected my baby brother.  Nobody was going to beat him up.  I let the kid know that next time he wanted to pick a fight he better think carefully about who he chose to pick on.  Because if he picked on my brother again, I was going to knock him down and sit on him.   Very lady like of course.   I know and my brother knows that wherever we are we can call on the other for help and we will come running.  In fact that goes for all of my family.   We are a one for all and all for one family.   If you take on one, you take on all of us.  I am so lucky and honored to be part of such a family.   Love you family.
My brother doesn't like his picture taken.  I had to take it in a hurry that is why it's blurry.
LOVE YOU AARON

Back from California

I am back from California and the RV sale.  It was tough going.   People want RV's but with the economy and fuel prices they are not so willing to part with their money.   At least the weather was nice there.  Up in the 70's. The last Sunday, it rained and turned cold.  Snow in the higher mountains.   Hubby and I got to go to Disneyland one day.   I have never seen sooooo many people.  Sixty minute wait to ride the rides.   Not my cup of tea.  I did enjoy the adventure and watching people though.

I really didn't want to come home to the cold, but I missed my fur babies.  They were so glad to see us.  Bella wouldn't leave my side for a couple of hours.  I had to give her a bath though., she rolled in poop before I got home.  The daughter didn't want to do the deed, so I got the pleasure.  Bella was not to happy with me.  That's the price for the pleasure of rolling in poop.  Back to the grind now.

Elk in back field

It snowing here and when I look in the field above us there were about 6 or 7 head of bull elk.  I grab the camera but I couldn't close enough to get real good pictures but here is a few.   Also I am going to California to help my hubby sell RV's at a show in Anaheim.   Pray that we do well.  I will try to blog when we get there.  We are driving.  Praying for good weather.

I spooked them trying to get closer

Birds Singing

I have this bush in my yard that sparrows love to nest in.  They have been there all winter.  I haven't pruned it, so there is a lot undergrowth that they can hide in.  I stepped out this morning to call the dogs in, and the birds were just a singing, chirping, chattering whatever it is birds do.  It sounded like a bunch of first graders trying to get their teachers attention.  Some of them were sitting at the top of the bush catching the sun we are having right now.  It would be warm if it wasn't for the wind blowing.   Right in the middle of the sparrows was a robin, so spring must be just around the corner.  Yeah right.  We have a prediction for a big snow storm this weekend.  The robin I think is a little early.  Anyways, hope everyone has a nice and productive weekend. I plan on it.
